Our first group of travelers have recently returned home from Costa Rica ! They had the opportunity to visit Poás Volcano, La Fortuna Waterfall, Lake Arenal, and many more beautiful locations in Costa Rica. SOS travelers also planted trees in the rainforest of Guanacaste and served at the Escuela Cañas Dulces. The trip was amazing and was a great way to kick off a summer of service and traveling for SOS! Pura Vida!
SOS gathered at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steak Burgers Wednesday to enjoy some good food and discuss our upcoming England and France trip. Thanks to everyone who came and showed their support for SOS!
SOS was honored to be recognized by the City of San Antonio and by the Sister Cities International Organization last night! We have 27 Student Ambassadors visiting Wuxi, China this summer and we are leading a group of 13 students from San Antonio to the SCI Youth Conference in Washington, DC! So proud of our kids for their dedication and commitment to citizen diplomacy!
Next year SOS is taking a trip to Italy! SOSers met up at South Alamode Panini & Gelato Company to get to know one another. SOS will have 6 schools (Garner MS, STEM, KSAT, NESA, Mac, and Lee) traveling to Italy with Mrs. Andersen next year! We can’t wait for this exciting experience! Ciao!
SOS had another successful event at the TX Diaper Bank keeping families healthy! Thank you to everyone who helped out. Great Job!
On Thursday, BB&T Bank hosted a special reception for the SOS China Student Ambassadors, where we were presented with a check for $500! SOS is grateful for the generous contribution from BB&T, the great food, and the warm reception!
SOS had a great time partnering with Give More Hugs. Over 40 students wrote inspirational notes in over 200 books that will be donated to help encourage other students to do and be their best. So proud of our kids for stepping up and spreading the love for reading!
